How an Australian Labradoodle is the best companion in nowadays time

A love letter to the best animal companion one could wish for: Cassy and Pinky.

When thinking of what kind of content to share with you guys, I realized that I would like to share some of my feelings with you!
In particular, I want to write a love letter about our two Australian Labradoodles: Cassy and Pinky!

Disclaimer: I used AI to proof read the post I originally wrote, but did not allow changes to the text itself.

I tell both of them each day that they are “good girls”, and obviously neither of them will understand this show of gratitude.
Yet, they deserve to be praised and cherished – even into the void of the internet. Let it be known to everyone how blessed we are to have those two as companions and members of our family.

It is no secret that I originally did not want to add a dog. The responsibility, the costs, the time and energy expenses (personal, not electricity!) seemed just too much. I mean, what do you get in return?

This is indeed a horrible and depressing approach to life, and luckily enough for me, they cured me of this zero-sum calculation.

I did not expect much when my wife convinced me to get Cassy. Little did I know how much our life would be enriched by our Australian Labradoodle dame.

Cassy and her daughter Pinky are entirely pure-hearted souls.
There is no trace of any kind of malice, deception, elbow mentality, egoism, betrayal, apathy, or calculation. You know, the stuff you and I experience on a daily basis.

Cassy and Pinky seemingly just exist. Like floating in a pink bubble and inviting you in simply by being in their presence.
All the outside noise suddenly becomes dim and quiet, like distant thunder. Spending time with them, hugging or petting them, seems to entirely fill your attention and push all other thoughts out.

It is as if their attention to you, their whole commitment to you, pushes all other notions within you aside.
It is pure bliss and creates a moment of peace when you enter the bubble around them.
Especially when either of them pushes their snoot into your hand for some pets. This demand is so strong, but yet in a calming manner. It is actually hard to describe. I am usually far away in my thoughts, and it feels like a tether back to the ground.

On top of it, everything with them seems so easy and straightforward.
They want your attention and love and offer unconditional companionship.
There is no hair everywhere, they are calm (which, of course, goes out the window when we start throwing the ball), friendly to everyone – though we of course need to keep an eye on them in case they get too excited and spiral into a happiness craze – and really easy to maintain.
I am learning (by doing) to groom both of them, and they are so relaxed and patiently waiting for the process to be done.
Both of us are enjoying the time we spend together in this moment (I am, however, glad they do not have a sense of fashion – my grooming skills are… to put it mildly, a work in progress, haha).

Yes, of course we also trained both of them (Cassy more than Pinky: life happened), but in all honesty, I am not necessarily the most patient person. Yet, training and educating them comes so easily. They want to please and would follow you into the abyss if you asked them to.

This, of course, is a big responsibility, which I am fully aware of, but as it comes from a place of love and trust, it is never a burden, but rather a fulfillment.

All of this is one of the main reasons why we decided to have puppies with Cassy (and maybe, maybe at one point with Pinky). Sharing and enriching other family lives with those love bombs (though I do confess, eight of them can be a bit much sometimes, haha) is creating value for others, and maybe good karma for us :D
